Health And Wellbeing

I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. John 10:10

Abundant Life

Our God has called us to live an abundant life! How can we live more abundantly and be better stewards not only of the world God has given us, but also of our own minds and bodies? Spending time with friends, taking time to exercise, to create, and to relax are all important for us as followers of Jesus. St. Luke’s offers some different opportunities that can help you to be a faithful steward of the body that God has given you.

Pickleball

Pickleball is a great low-impact sport that’s easy on the body. It can lead to better cholesterol and blood pressure levels, lowering your risk of heart disease. We have an open gym for pickleball players on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings in our Family Life Center.

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is great for your balance, blood pressure, cognitive function, and more. Come and try it out with Dr. Charlie Holman. We meet on Tuesdays at 5:30PM in the church Narthex.

Faith By Foot

Come and walk a while with the folks of St. Luke’s through the gardens and parks of Summerville. Kali will share a scripture and prayer as she leads you through the beauty of God’s beautiful creation.

Painting

Hold a paint brush in your hand, and imagine the unfathomable possibilities that are before you on an empty canvas! Come breathe in the fresh, outdoor air as you set your soul free and paint your very own piece of art. No previous experience is necessary. Bring a blank canvas and some paint to join Ms. Deb and others on Thursday evenings at 6:15PM.

Knitting

Knitting is wonderful for those who want to unwind and relax, as we experience the joy of creating blankets, hats, scarves, and more! Not only is this a great way to get to know others at St. Luke’s, but our creations are often used to help those in need in our community. Come and knit with Joyce at St. Luke’s on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 1-3PM in our Conference Room.

Supper Clubs

Looking for some new friends? Are you ready to build some relationships with folks here at St. Luke’s? Join St. Luke’s Supper Club! You will be placed in a group of 6-8 other church members at St. Luke’s, and will meet together for a monthly meal at any location you choose. After 3 months, groups change members and get to meet those from other groups as well. This is a great way to get to know others at St. Luke’s and enjoy a night out on the town!

Coffee with Kali

Do Monday mornings get you down? Come have coffee and conversation with Kali. She is at Coastal Coffee Roasters in Summerville from 8AM-10AM every Monday morning just waiting for church folks to drop by for a chat.

Book Clubs

Lose yourself and expand your mind in a great book, then discuss the insights you come across with friends at St. Luke’s! We have a book club that meets on every 4th Saturday of the month.
